Sports Day Fundraising Events
We were looking at volunteers and ideas
A balloon race was agreed by all, despite concerns about 'green' issues. Mrs Joiner is to contact Friends of The Earth to research bio-degradable balloons.
Stalls and events would be discussed with the P.E department and the Head and school council voted that we should take five ideas forward. 3 events are to be chosen.
We are trying to stick to a sports theme to keep the events tied in with sports day. The events to be put forward are as follows:

Wet the teacher - 28 votes
Penalty shootout (netball and football) -all
Balloon Darts - 8 votes
Lawn Darts- 6 votes
Tin can alley - 13 votes

A vote was also taken on stalls and the results are as follows:
Sweets stalls- FOR 12 AGAINST 4
Drinks/water stalls- FOR all AGAINST 0

Publicity will also be carried out nearer the time.
This will be done through assemblies and registers.
Volunteers for assemblies:-
Year 7 - Thomas, S Waite
Year 8- G Spencer and Co
Year 9- P Bennett
Year 10- P Bennett
Year 11 will not be here for the event
Year 12 B Sykes/Mr Joiner
Year 13 will not be here for the event

School Mock Elections
Approximately 650 people voted
72 of the votes were not counted as they were spoiled
The prize is a trip to London to meet the MP's with the year 12's
J Handsaker (also known as the monster raving looney party) won the mock election with over 200 votes.
Congratulations to all of the other candidates that ran in the election and thank you to the helpers.
